- PLASTERMIX PLASTER OF PARIS CASTING MATERIAL PLASTERMIX Plaster of Paris Casting Material – create castings in color! Plaster colors include arctic white, blue, brown, green, orange, purple, red, and yellow. As a specially formulated art supply grade plaster, PLASTERMIX Plaster of Paris Casting Material is activated by using 2 parts casting material to 1 part cold water. Check ‘How To Make Plaster’ section below for instructions and best practices. Hardening or drying times for PLASTERMIX will vary with mold thickness. As a general guideline, please follow these drying time allowances: For smaller moldings, less than 1” thick, allow 20 - 30 minutes. For larger moldings, more than 1” thick, allow 45 – 60 minutes. Measure 1 part PLASTERMIX Plaster of Paris Casting Material to ˝ part water NOTE: Using warm water will accelerate material hardening. It is recommended to use cold water to allow for adequate setup. 2. Stir contents until you obtain a smooth consistency. 3. Pour into desired mold. 4. Let dry approx. 45-60 minutes. Drying times will vary for large castings. 5. Remove casting from mold. 6. Ready to decorate.
